One book in ten sold in 2021 in physical and online bookshops and in large-scale retail (10% of the total) is a comic book. As for the value of sales, comic books account for 5.9% of the total trade market (novels, non-fiction, manuals and children’s books). The figures for the first four months indicate that comic book sales continue to grow: in the period from January to April up to 12.3% in terms of number of copies and 7% in terms of value.
